Home Modification

If you need some changes around your house to improve your access and move around more easily, we can help.

What supports are available at Value Care?

Value Care is a registered NDIS Home Modifications provider. This means we can improve your home environment by making changes to the structure, layout or fittings.

Major Modifications

We complete major modifications such as:

  • Removal of a bath or hob to create a level or easy access bathroom
  • Large access ramps
  • Stairlifts
  • Bidets
  • Widening of doorways

Minor Modifications

We complete minor modifications such as:

  • Grabrails
  • Handrails
  • Ramps
  • Rubber wedges
  • Key safe
  • Weighted shower curtain on a track (various sizes)

Please note for all modifications we require a detailed report from an Occupational Therapist (OT) outlining the scope of works required. If you do not have a current OT, we can recommend one approved by the NDIS.

General Maintenance

Value Care’s staff handymen can complete general home maintenance such as remeshing and fixing screens, replacing locks, changing light bulbs, changing rollers on doors and various other work including garden maintenance, that can comply with the NDIS pricing guide. We also have a selection of specialist contractors on our books that have provided a current police check, public liability insurance, a Yellow Card and are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
The work they complete can include:

  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Air Conditioning
  • Appliance Repairs
  • Clearing of gutters
  • Garage door repairs
  • Tank pumps
  • Gas repairs
  • Locksmith’s
  • Anti-slip treatment
  • Window cleaning

Please note, in the case of the trades people available, their hourly rates do not fall within the NDIS pricing guide. Where possible Value Care is happy to organise quotes on your behalf but it is important to liaise with your support coordinator, LAC or Plan manager for further clarification around seeking advice if works required would be deemed as reasonable and necessary and available under your personal NDIS plan.
